Exmouth Stamp Club 2021

February 13, 2021

By Ed Elsey

2021 got off to a quiet start, the sea locally performing its daily different but same routine and tales of trails of visitors still passionate about travelling to our lovely South West.

Rules said no and we watched as pandemic soared in our area. Phone calls and e-mails helped us to support those in our membership not handling it so well and encouraging each other, which was and is still much appreciated.

Stamp collectors were among the few groups who, busily at home, stayed calm and carried on, pulling out albums and boxes and files of odd stamps to be inserted into collections, when there was time to do it, maintaining a personal absorbing and ever-fascinating interest and being able to value an absence of any boredom – with never a doubt about what to do next, when current jobs were completed.

Always something for a stamp collector to renew, re-arrange, re-describe, find watermarks and measure perforations, add to, share with fellow collectors and discover anew about stamp history and background.  Colourful and beautiful to behold.

On the second Wednesday of every month Dawlish Club holds a Zoom presentation. The Hon.Secretary can give you details if you contact him on secretary@exmouthstampclub.org.
